2024 DEFEND YOU MOVES AWARDS NOMINEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHATS UP SPECIAL ED?!?!?!?!?! We're still in the midst of an ALL-TIME Special Ed Semi Final Round!!! Team DYM had like 10 fantasy points until 6pm eastern yesterday, now we're projected for 160 and we're 99% favorites. That was pretty wild.
On the other side of the bracket, Yahoo has I ❤️ Auntie Cynthula as 54% favorites, projecting them to win by less than a point over the Super Bowl Rippers.  I❤️AC need about 8 from Doubs tonight for the win, a number he's hit 6 times in 11 games this year. Its an absolute coin toss. We feel like it's important to point out at this juncture that NO ONE is rooting for   I❤️AC. No one. And it's not cause we don't want to get beat by a little kid; everybody can agree that the ownership transition of this squad had been one of the funniest things thats ever happened in Fantasy Football. No, the true ignominy would be losing to AUTODRAFT... AGAIN!!!
It happened once in this league, way back probly before I❤️AC was born. Back then we were more ambivalent about the situation. On the one hand that fantasy season was a total fluke: The autodraft champ was helmed by a rookie QB and rookie RB1 who were on the same NFL team. Crazy. And we're not talking about Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas here - not hall of famers - we're talkin about ROBERT GRIFFIN THE THIRD and TRENT RICHARDSON!!! Two guys who literally had the best seasons of their careers as rookies. We bet you I❤️AC has never even heard of Trent Richardson, he's maybe heard of RG3 cause he's on ESPN now but we bet I❤️AC didnt even know he played football (don't google him, there's some gross youtubes). Anyways, total fluke, right? But on the other hand everybody vowed we'd never let that kind of travesty ever befall this league again. Some people quit the league after that!!!!! But now, if we let I❤️AC get two more wins, then Brooklyn Barracudas, Fourth Reich, Y'dKobeHv2HitThtRaw? and even FatGuysDoingTheJob are all retroactively going in the HALL OF SHAME!!!!!   An autodraft champion is a goddamn disgrace, ESPECIALLY when they only made EIGHT roster moves all fucking year!!!!! FUCK THAT THE 11th ANNUAL DEFEND YOUR MOVES AWARDS NOMINEES!!!!! A TRADITION UNLIKE ANY OTHER!!! Every year, here at DYM we celebrate the BEST of The Special Ed League with the DYM Awards. These prestigious honors recognize the true league-winners. Not the players with the most points - but the best GARBAGE PLAYERS!!! Not the teams with the most points - but the team that dives deepest into that DUMPSTER!!! Or perhaps just the guy thats funny in the group chat -- ITS UP TO YOU!!!

We guess people were circumspect about there being a rookie QB in Washington. We all knew Scary Terry was the man, there was really no reason to let him drop this far. Great Pick! Brian Thomas Jr. (8th rd.) - We LOVE Brian Thomas. The DYM Editor in Chief is in 3 seasonal Yahoo leagues this year and we drafted B. Tom in the 8th round of all of them. He was dynamite in LSU last year, one of the most fun college teams ever, but we knew that boring name would keep him off most folks radar, so seemed safe to wait til the keeper rounds Joe Burrow* (12th rd.) *autodraft - Youre not actually allowed to vote for Burrow, but we'd be remiss if we didn't acknowledge that the QB3 in this league was drafted in the 12th round. But he was AUTODRAFTED behind Lamar Jackson so I❤️AC actually got a normal amount of value for that pick (1 start). Rasheed Shahid (13th) - Uncle Rico drafted Shahid and got 15pts per game out of him for four games then traded him to DYM for Bucky Irving. Shahid would go on IR the next week and Bucky would go on to average 15pts per game the rest of the year. GREAT PICK!!! AND GREAT MOVE!!!!! BEST PICKUP: Brock Bowsers - Drafted in the FIFTEENTH round then dropped in week 1 🤦‍♂️. Picked up on September 15th by Pauls Awesome Team and went on to put up 968 rec yards so far, which is the equivalent to WR10 in this FLEX TE league. Baker Mayfield - Picked up on September 10th by PAT and dropped. Picked up by Uncle Rico September 29th and would go on to start OVER Patrick Mahomes. A truly bold move by Rico. Jerry Jeudy - Its really weird to think that Jeudy was a free agent as recently as November 18th. The Desean Watson era feels like forever ago. But just a month back the Browns were absolutely destitute and all Browns WRs got dropped. But then Watson bounced, and Amari got traded, and then Lasik Jamis stepped in and now Jeudy is WR2 in this league over the last month. What a ride. Sam Darnold - The QB5 over the last four weeks, Sam Darnold is about to play in his first Special Ed Super Bowl. Darnold was undrafted and picked up three different times (all by Team DYM), and even garnering a mid-season team name tribute (" HEY DARNOLD!!! ", classic). DYM MVP: Always Be Chimpin' - A stalwart Original Special Ed member, Big Chimpin has come alive this season on the group text. Good to see that energy from a 5-win squad that only made 7 moves all year. Super Bowl Ripper - Ripper helped save FOOD BEEF this year. They guest-judged the only half-decent good BBQ we had. And when we were ready to throw in the towel, Ripper stepped up and guest-judging the entire Jersey City Mac n' Cheese Fest with us. Now SB Ripper has the ENTIRE LEAGUE rooting for them in their semi-final barnburner!!!!! ICE ROAD GOLFERS!!! - A very light year for the blog, volume-wise, but we turned the weirdness up to 11 in October and November. In our opinion " WE JOINED A CULT!!!!! " and " 2024 ELECTION CONSPIRACY SPECIAL!!!!!!!!!! " will go down in history amongst the greatest DYM Bangers. Quality over quantity. We put our non-blogging time to good use too - we made the semi-finals in all three of those Yahoo leagues, and we're playing in 2 Super Bowls next week. LFG!!!!!!! ghost forking 👻 - This was maybe the worst Special Ed team in the post-Abby era. But not for lack of trying. They made a healthy 28 moves and gave us the league's best Team Name this year. HAVE A GREAT VOTE EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
